Ahmed al-Sharaa received by King Abdullah in Amman

ALBAWABA - King Abdullah II received on Wednesday the Syrian Interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa at Marka Airport, the Royal Hashemite Court (RHC) announced.

Al-Sharaa was welcomed by Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, Chief Adviser for Religious and Cultural Affairs and Personal Envoy for King Abdullah, Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, as well as Director of King's Office Alaa Batayneh, local media confirmed.

This visit marks al-Sharaa's third diplomatic trip abroad, following Saudi Arabia and Turkey, since assuming office after leading an operation that ousted longtime ruler Bashar Assad.

Al-Sharaa is expected to hold a wide range of discussions including on strengthening bilateral ties, enhancing border security, and expanding economic cooperation.
