Ahrar Leader Renews Call for Iraqi Representation at "Iraq Inquiry" Hearing

Published December 3rd, 2009 - 03:39 GMT

Today Ahrar Leader Ayad Jamal Aldin again called upon the Chairman of the Iraq Inquiry, Sir John Chilcot to allow him to be seated at an evidence giving hearing.

Following the lack of response received from the Iraq Inquiry, Mr Ayad Jamal Aldin has re-issued his original request along with a supplementary letter urging that the Iraqi people are represented in the audience.

Mr Ayad Jamal Aldin said, "I am giving the Iraq Inquiry under the chairmanship of Sir John Chilcot another opportunity to provide the Iraqi people a seat at these hearings."

"The decisions taken following the war in 2003, still resound throughout Iraq today, with corruption and sectarianism blighting the lives of ordinary Iraqis. No-one deserves to hear the answers to questions about post-war planning, more than the Iraqi people. Ahrar will continue to fight for the Iraqi people's right to listen to the answers first hand."
