Air India has announced that it will expand its operations to the Gulf region, reported the Gulf News on Thursday.
The Indian airline has registered an unprecedented increase in revenue and passenger traffic out of Bahrain and other Gulf states, said the paper.
Outgoing regional director for Gulf and the Middle East, George Tharakan, said he was delighted at the great strides taken in the Gulf sector by India’s national carrier.
“Last year, we made a record sales turnover of about BD100 million ($276m) from the Gulf operations,” he told the paper – Albawaba.com
