Air Miles Middle East welcomes new CEO

Air Miles, the Middle East’s leading multi-participant loyalty programme, is delighted to welcome Mark Mortimer-Davies to the role of CEO, effective 25th October.


Mortimer-Davies joins Air Miles with over 25 years of Middle Eastern FMCG and Retail experience, including 15 years spent in Saudi Arabia. 


Among his previous positions, Mortimer-Davies was Head of Retail at Spinney’s when they first launched with the Air Miles programme in 2001, and Director of Retail Operations Savola Groups Hyperpanda operation.


Welcoming him to Air Miles, European Commercial Services Director, Simon Hawkes said Mark Mortimer-Davies had all the necessary skills and experience to help the business reach ambitious new targets. “Mark’s extensive experience across the Middle East’s Retail Sector will prove extremely beneficial and will be hugely advantageous to us and our participants, at a time when loyalty has never been more important. I have no doubt that we can all learn from his expertise and use this to ensure Air Miles’s reach is even greater across the whole MENA region,” he said.


Mortimer-Davies, who comes from Wales, lists as his hobbies a love of Rugby Union and reading, when he is not spending time with his family.


Dave Battiston, after serving seven years as CEO of the Middle Eastern operation, has been promoted within the Group to the role of Managing Director, International Retail Programmes, Groupe Aeroplan Europe, based in London, where he will be responsible for exploring new business opportunities with retailers in new and emerging loyalty markets.




Under Battiston’s leadership, Air Miles – which is 60% owned by Groupe Aeroplan - has grown its database to over two million members across seven countries and has in excess of 150 participating companies, including HSBC across the Middle East Region. Battiston will continue to sit on the RMMEL Board of Directors.
