Al Falak, the premier IT and Communication solution provider in the Gulf region, has signed an agreement with Faysal M. Qahtani Sons (FMQ), the leading construction firm in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), to implement JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, a state-of-the-art Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution, at FMQ’s office in the Kingdom.
Al-Falak will implement JD Edwards EnterpriseOne version at FMQ to streamline the company’s major business processes, including financial management, distribution and logistics, project management, human resources and payroll, and equipment maintenance.
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is a complete suit of modular, pre-integrated industry-specific business applications designed for rapid deployment and ease of administration. The solution is ideally suited for organizations that manufacture, construct, distribute, service or manage products or physical assets.
“The agreement with FMQ represents another major success for Al-Falak, considering that they are the acknowledged leaders in the Saudi construction sector, and the implementation of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne solution will enable FMQ to achieve significant business benefits,” said Ahmed Ashadawi, President and CEO of Al-Falak Electronic Equipment and Supplies. “Al-Falak has over 14 years of experience in implementing JD Edwards ERP solutions in the Saudi Arabian market, and is fully competent in implementing all requisite applications by its own.”
Al-Falak will follow JD Edwards’ “OneMethodology” approach in implementing the financial, distribution, human resources and payroll, project management and equipment maintenance solutions at FMQ. OneMethodology is an activity-based implementation approach that employs a collection of activities to organize work, capture and resolve issues, and quickly make and implement decisions.
“Today, an increasing number of companies spread across the business and industrial sector are realizing the centrality of ERP solutions to remain competitive and achieve business objectives. ERP solutions enable enterprises to maximize return on assets, streamline order fulfillment processes, drive an efficient supply chain and deliver products on time and within budget,” Ashadawi said.
The implementation of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne at the FMQ site in Al Khobar will be conducted in three phases. In the first phase, Al-Falak will implement the financial, distribution, and HR and payroll applications, while the second phase will mark the implementation of the project management application, and will include execution of the job costing, change order and contract billing modules. The project will conclude with the implementation of equipment maintenance application in the third and final phase. The FMQ project will be managed as a central project, thereby gathering, documenting and mapping requirements from all sites into a single project document set.
The recognized market leader in the Saudi construction sector, FMQ offers clients a multi-disciplined capability to perform project management and construction of a variety of projects, both large and small. To further support its construction activities, FMQ has formed a trading division, which represents some of the leading international valve, pipe, fittings and pump manufacturers.
