ALBAWABA - A video has circulated online, reportedly showing fans of the Al Nassr football club storming Al Hilal football club's VIP area.
Saudi security forces arrested several people on Tuesday following a brawl at "Al-Awwal Park" stadium in Riyadh during the Al-Nassr vs. Al-Hilal match, Arabian Business reported Tuesday.
The media spokesperson for Riyadh Police said that, in coordination with the Ministry of Sports, a number of individuals were apprehended following a brawl at a sporting event.
The spokesperson added that Riyadh Police detained the individuals involved, took the necessary legal measures against them, and referred them to the Public Prosecution.
Videos of the altercation circulated on social media, and the incident drew widespread criticism from fans of both teams.
Al-Hilal's last-minute goal further heightened tensions, as it postponed Al-Nassr's league title celebrations until the next round, provided they win their final match.
