ALBAWABA - The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement in Gaza, is keeping the arrangements for handing over the Israeli hostages very secret, and it didn't even tell Hamas leaders the details on how it will happen and where.

Prominent Hamas leader and political bureau member Osama Hamdan told the media on Saturday that "fighters from the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades have not informed the Hamas leadership of any procedural arrangements for handing over the hostages, including the location."

Hamdan added that 48 hostages, both living and dead, will be handed over to the Israeli authorities on Monday, the majority of whom are Israelis, according to what Agence France-Presse reported (AFP).

Once the hostages are returned from Gaza, Israel will begin releasing approximately 2,000 Palestinian prisoners from its jails, as part of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement signed by the two sides with U.S. mediation.
