aldar announces leadership excellence applied diploma programme sponsors

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Al Fahim Group, the Executive Council and the Environment Agency line up to support Abu Dhabi’s future leaders

ALDAR Properties PJSC, Abu Dhabi’s first fully integrated developer, has announced the support of four high-profile companies for its Leadership Excellence Applied Diploma (LEAD) qualification. Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), Al Fahim Group and the Executive Council have stepped up as Gold sponsors, with the Environment Agency coming forward as a Silver sponsor.

The launch of the new qualification was announced in May 2007, and the first intake of students are already participating in the course. The programme is open to UAE nationals who wish to take the next step towards fulfilling their potential in high-level business and government positions. The course was designed to develop strategically sound leaders and world-class managers capable of achieving the vision of Abu Dhabi.

“I am very proud to announce such prestigious sponsors for the ALDAR LEAD programme, and I thank them for their support,” said Abdullah Zamzam, Chief Corporate Support Officer, ALDAR Properties, adding: “Their generous sponsorship demonstrates the commercial backing and weight of this project.”

“Alfahim plays a considerable societal role in Abu Dhabi and the LEAD program is an initiative that we strongly support. The other element is that the LEAD program is in harmony with Alfahim’s vision to be the best-in-class in all that we do. By engaging in LEAD, Alfahim will benefit from the creation of competent managers and sound leaders within our organization and who will make a difference to Abu Dhabi,” said xxxxxx, Al Fahim

“Abu Dhabi deserves to be led by the best. As a highly business-orientated bank, we see the value in projects like this and are keen to be associated with developing the next generation of UAE nationals to lead the emirate of Abu Dhabi through what looks to be its largest growth phase ever,” said Sultan Al Mahmod, HR Manager at ADCB

Meanwhile, both the Executive Council and the Environment Agency are equally as enthusiastic about their support of the LEAD program.

“Both the LEAD program and the Executive Council are set to benefit from our engagement in this initiative. The LEAD program will create 1st, 2nd and 3rd tier management leaders and as a result we expect that our employees will play an active role in the Executive Council community,” said Dr. Mugheer Al Kheali, Deputy of the Secretary-General of the Executive Council.

“The Environment Agency- Abu Dhabi (EAD) takes pride in being a sponsor of the LEAD programme. Through our sponsorship, EAD is supporting its employees and extending support to UAE nationals in other organizations. This program truly reflects community investment so our involvement gives us great pride,” said His Excellence Majed Al Mansouri, Secretary-General of the Environment Agency

The LEAD programme is a joint venture between ALDAR, the University of Cambridge International Examinations and Knowledge Horizon and currently has 25 students. Courses are conducted over a two year period with a professional qualification culminating from workshops, focus groups, guest speakers and world-class training. The flexible structure of the study program allows a number of intake dates, whilst the taught elements of the course are a combination of day and evening lectures thus allowing all students to remain in employment, gain comprehensive knowledge and progress their career.

The LEAD course is not exclusively for ALDAR employees. This is because ALDAR wishes to ensure that the emirate is equipped with quality managerial candidates across the board.
