Algeria to build new cinema halls

The Algerian Culture Minister, Khalida Toumi, revealed that the state will deliver 120 cinema halls, which are expected to start operating within the next six months, it was reported Monday.

 

The new cinema halls will join the existing 106 halls, which offer just 48,000 seats, compared to 2 million seats, which are needed in Algeria, according to international standards. Mrs. Toumi was speaking in front of producers, directors, actors and technicians working in the Algerian cinema industry, while opening a seminar regarding the preliminary project related to the cinema law. The seminar was held in Mufdi Zakariya cultural hall in the capital.
