Algeria and Morocco have agreed on Sunday to establish three committees with a view to enable both countries to maintain contacts geared towards boosting joint action.

The agreement came in a joint Algerian Moroccan statement issued in Algiers during the current official visit to Algeria by Moroccan minister of foreign affairs and cooperation Mohammed Benaissa, according to KUNA news agency.

The statement said that the committees incluse the political consultation committee, set up under the co-chairmanship of the two countries' foreign ministers, the economic affairs committee and the consular and social affairs committee.

The statement added that the two countries agreed that the consular committee would hold its first meeting in Algeria during the last week of June while the economic committee would hold its first meeting in Rabat in July to assess cooperation between the countries in consular and economic issues.
