Algerian security forces killed at least ten armed Islamists on Wednesday during a raid on mountain hideouts in the west of the country, according to El Khabar Saturday.
The ongoing operation destroyed eight forts, while significant amounts of food, clothing and medication have also been taken away, the paper said.
The Islamists belonged to the Houmat Daawa Salafia (HDS) group, Defenders of the Salafist Preaching, which takes its inspiration from the Armed Islamic Group (GIA). (Albawaba.com)
