ALHOSN University, a leading Abu Dhabi-based university dedicated to high-quality and value-based education, recently honored the outstanding extra-curricular activities of its students during its Appreciation Day held at the Male and Female Campuses. Awardees were particularly commended for their participation in GETEX, the largest education fair in the Middle East and Asia, and NAJAH, the UAE’s most comprehensive education, training and careers event.

ALHOSN Vice Chancellor and CEO Prof. Abdul-Rahim Sabouni personally handed out certificates and gifts to selected students for setting high standards in volunteer work and acting as role models for their peers. They were rewarded for their active participation in the university’s first Career Fair, the recent GETEX exhibition held in Dubai, and the NAJAH exhibition.

“At ALHOSN, we consider hands-on learning an important part of personal growth. We constantly encourage our students to participate in activities and programs that sharpen their skills and allow them to contribute to the community. This year we have a good roster of awardees that have proven themselves to be worthy role models for their fellow students and a source of pride for the University. We hope that their peers will follow their example and engage in productive extra-curricular activities,” said Dr. Hamdi Sheibani, Provost, ALHOSN University.

This appreciation day was the second for the academic year 2009-2010. The first was held in the fall semester and rewarded students who earned the highest grades in their respective programs.

ALHOSN is celebrating its 5th anniversary and its growth into a respected educational institution in the UAE this year. The University has three faculties overseeing 11 undergraduate and 7 graduate programs, all of which are accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and available to students of all nationalities.
