ALHOSN University, a leading Abu Dhabi-based institution dedicated to high-quality, value-based education, attracted huge crowds to its display of world-class educational programs and activities aimed at promoting Arab heritage at the Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) Dubai 2009 which ran from April 15 to 18, 2009 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Attendees to the UAE version of the largest education fair in the Middle East and Asia were introduced to ALHOSN’s Engineering & Applied Sciences, Business, and Arts & Social Sciences courses, which were developed by North American academicians. The University was complimented for the quality and diversity of its curriculum and its emphasis on the importance of social and cultural development. GETEX participants were highly interested in ALHOSN’s unique philosophy of “global knowledge with local vision.”
“While we aim to educate creative and critical thinkers who can compete at the global level, we also want our students to be aware of their role and responsibility in honouring their culture and their heritage. The exhibition’s audience has been highly appreciative of our diverse course offerings, which reflects how we want our students to have a broad view of their lives, their careers, and their societies. GETEX provides us with a platform to promote the mentality that personal and academic growth must be both global and local,” said ALHOSN University Vice Chancellor and CEO Prof. Abdul Rahim Sabouni.
Prof. Sabouni and Marketing and Public Relations Manager Nadine Kanj represented ALHOSN University during GETEX’ four-day run. They provided details on the University’s four new graduate engineering programs, namely, Master in Buildings Engineering, Master in Engineering Management, Graduate Certificate in Buildings Engineering, and Graduate Certificate in Engineering Management. The institution currently offers 11 undergraduate and 7 graduate accredited programs in three faculties, with a significant emphasis on engineering. ALHOSN University also maintains unique programs for scholarships, special needs students, and greater involvement of women in engineering, and is open to applicants from all nationalities.
ALHOSN University, which started offering its academic programs in 2005, has been participating in several high-profile events such as a recent seminar conducted by the UAE Chapter of the American Concrete Institute (ACI), the 7th Counseling Arabia Conference and World Autism Awareness Day to affirm its strong commitment to educational and social development. Its City Campus includes the Men’s Campus, the Women’s Campus, Library Building, Lectures Building and the Engineering Labs Building, all located at the centre of Abu Dhabi. A main campus with state-of-the-art facilities designed according to the highest international standards will soon be constructed.
