The US Embassy in Baghdad said Thursday that an American citizen working with the embassy was killed during an attack outside the Green Zone in the Iraqi capital.
Spokesman Pete Mitchell said the man was travelling in a car outside the Zone, when he came under gunfire Wednesday afternoon. The American was a senior consultant to the Iraqi ministers of education and higher education.
Meanwhile, a car bomb exploded Wednesday on the road to the airport, killing three people - a woman and two children. (albawaba.com)
