Coinciding with the upcoming Eid holiday season, American Express Middle East is continuing its partnership with Gulf Air and Royal Jordanian Airlines in the International Airline Programme exclusively designed for American Express’ Platinum and Gold Charge and Credit Cardmembers. The programme allows the Cardmembers to enjoy complimentary companion tickets or selected upgrades from the Middle East and North Africa to some of the most popular destinations around the world.

The offer is available when purchasing a business or first class ticket, and allows the Cardmember to take a companion with them on the same flight itinerary or an upgrade where applicable subject to availability. There is no limit to the number of times a Cardmember can avail of this offer throughout the year and the present programme is open until 30 June 2007. Now in it’s third year in the region, this annual offering is tailored as part of American Express’ International Airline Programme (IAP) – a value added service for its Platinum and Gold Charge and Credit Cardmembers. Unlike other promotions, this is a year round benefit that can be enjoyed as part of the total lifestyle benefits package provided to the premium cardmember segment.

“Our Platinum and Gold Cardmembers are accustomed to the finest in offerings and exclusive benefits; and with this special airline promotion, we have taken our personalised service a step up,” said Sunita Gomes, Regional Manager Airline & Travel Industries, American Express Middle East. “We thank our travel partners Gulf Air and Royal Jordanian Airlines again for their continued support in joining with us in providing the perfect way for premium travellers to get the best benefits in line with their lifestyle needs.”

As part of other travel related benefits, American Express ensures comfortable travel for its select premium Cardmembers with access to airport lounges across the Middle East, including access to complimentary refreshments, private telephones, fax machines, photocopiers and meeting rooms.

Further support is provided in the form of 24 hour emergency assistance including access to referral medical and legal services anywhere in the world.  Travel inconvenience and accident insurances and other travel benefits are also provided on specific range of Cards.

“Our premium Cardmembers travel extensively on leisure throughout the year, which constitutes a significant amount of travel expenditure.  With relevant promotions and enhanced offers, we aim to make their travel more comfortable and appealing,” added Gomes.

Currently, Gulf Air operates to 46 destinations across the Middle East, Asia, Europe and Royal Jordanian Airline flies to 51 destinations connecting the Middle East with the rest of the world.
