Amman Institute for Urban Development concluded the intensive training course titled "Towards More Sustainable Cities", with the participation of 15 female and male trainees from engineers and planners working at the municipalities of Ramallah, Al 'Ezariyeh, Jineen, Hebron, and AL Zababdeh.
The 5 day training course was organized by Amman Institute at Century Park Hotel, Amman, and tackled principles and concepts that control the process of planning environment towards smart urban growth.
The workshop, which is held for the 2nd time this year, included various sessions that lead to sustainable and smart urban growth, such as methods of metropolitan and strategic planning, environmental planning, studying Amman metropolitan plan, the social economical planning studies, transportation means studies, urban geography, social differences survey, in addition to the buildings' systems, the governing rules, and cities management.
The workshop included a number of field visits and practical exercises, and an integrated training package of the training material especially designed and coordinated for this course.
It is important to note that this course is based on and derived from Amman Institute's experience on smart urban planning in several Jordanian cities.
