The Secretary-general of Amnesty International (AI), based in London, Mrs. Irene Khan, has hailed the advancements made by Morocco in the field of human rights.
"In a world marked by serious violations of human rights, comforting news comes to us from countries like Morocco," said Mrs. Khan, during a press conference in London, held on the occasion of presenting the annual report of AI on the situation of human rights in the world.
Bladi.Net reports that the Secretary-general of AI added that the most significant advancements were realized by Morocco during the past few years, with acts such as the establishment of the Authority for Equity and Reconciliation (IER) and the adoption of a new code of family, which she described as "progressive".
