Human rights group Amnesty International launched an Arabic version of its Internet website Thursday, saying it was in response to growing demand.
In parallel with Amnesty's websites in other languages -- English, Spanish and French -- it offers information on human rights awareness, campaigns and the organization’s reports on all parts of the world.
"While some governments of the (Middle East) region will not allow our delegates to visit in person, we hope nevertheless to reach the people of the region and make an effective contribution to the human rights debate through the documentation available on our website," the organization’s Middle East director June Ray said.
The website can be contacted via www.amnesty.org -- LONDON (AFP)
