Angolan security forces have arrested two South Africans accused of bringing cocaine worth an estimated two million dollars into the country, the office for criminal research stated Thursday.

Customs officials found 60 kilograms (132 pounds) of the drug hidden in containers on a flight from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil by the Angolan national carrier TAAG, officials said.

Police put the drug's street value at two million dollars.

The South Africans, who were not named, are accused of organizing drug trafficking with an unspecified number of Angolans working for an unidentified company.

The Angolan government early this year boosted the customs force with narcotics experts to crack down on drug dealing -- LUANDA (AFP)
