2Connect, the Kingdom's link to the next generation of telecommunications services, has been shortlisted as one of the top three companies 'Leading Telecommunications’ in the Middle East. They are now competing alongside two other major network operators from across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region for the honour of the Leader at the Arab Investment Summit in Abu Dhabi next month.

Initially considered for the award were giants such as Batelco, QTel, Du, Zain, Nawras, Etisalat and STC. 2Connect, the youngest company to be considered in the category and now named one of the three Leading Communications in the Region, is competing against nominees whose total net worth is in the billions of US Dollars.

Commenting on this momentous occasion, Fahad AlShirawi, Founder and Managing Director of 2Connect said, “Firstly, I would like to thank the Kingdom of Bahrain and HRH and the 2030 Vision for creating the environment that encourages investment in this great country. Without the deregulation that took place six years ago, we would not have had the chance to turn this nation into the telecommunication hub it is becoming. We at 2Connect are all thrilled and excited to be named one of the region’s top three. This is not only a testament to our staff’s hard work and dedication to furthering the company’s vision, but also a tribute to Bahrain’s nurturing telecom business environment.”

“I’d like to thank the EDB, whose promotion of Business Friendly Bahrain has helped open up Bahrain’s market to competition,” said AlShirawi.

2Connect has earlier been nominated for 'Best Brand' Award at the Telecoms World Awards Middle East two years in a row.

“Our ability to offer unique products to the market is what distinguishes 2Connect. We are the first telecommunication company in Bahrain, and to our knowledge globally, to offer a true just-in-time service delivery option to clients as a standard on-net offering,” said AlShirawi.

“Providing a turn-around time as short as 24-hours for a new service delivered to new clients that are already on our network and a one-hour turn-around time for services delivered to existing clients looking to upgrade or add to their services truly differentiates 2Connect from Telcos across the globe, ” commented AlShirawi.
