Aquasun Expedition, Land Rover, Hold Second Raid Expedition
MTI Automotive provided Land Rovers to Aquasun for the Raid
MTI Automotive, the exclusive importer of Land Rover to Egypt, has announced today that Land Rover was once again the official car of the Spirit of Adventure Raid in Egypt. Land Rover, the only dedicated 4x4 manufacturer in the world, signed a sponsorship deal with Aquasun Expedition to support Raid, a grand scale desert adventure traversing thousands of kilometers of Egyptian desert and oasis.
MTI Automotive, as the sole distributor of Land Rover in Egypt, supplied the Expedition with six Land Rovers to travel in.
Organized by Aquasun Expedition, the Raid was a multi-day journey through the wilderness of Egypt, discovering the country’s natural beauty and exploring its less traveled areas. The expedition also benefited the Egyptian tourism industry by highlighting some of the nation’s rarely seen natural wonders.
“It was an honor to once again be tapped for this adventure,” stated MTI Chairman Ahmed El Gharib. “Land Rover has already proven itself on previous Raid expeditions, so it wasn’t a surprise to us that they would be used again.”
“We were proud to support this mission that not only demonstrates the performance of our vehicles, but helps showcase the natural wonders of Egypt. By making this trek, I think we made a positive contribution to the Egyptian tourism industry, highlighting the country’s outdoors and showing what we believe is a still untapped potential of the off-roading industry.”
The Raid was once again led by Aquasun Expedition owner, Hesham Nessim, who with over 23 years of experience leading professional desert adventures, was the perfect fit for such a mission. “It’s always exciting to undertake these missions in the desert, and it’s always satisfying knowing I have a Land Rover to do it in,” stated Nessim. Land Rover has time and time again, proven itself to me that it can handle the job and withstand the abuse that we put it through on these adventures.”
El Gharib agreed, noting that “Land Rover is all about exploration and pushing boundaries, so I think this is a natural fit for the vehicle.”
The Raid showcased the off-road capabilities of the Land Rover, as the two day expedition covered Ein Um Akhmed and Ein Sokhna. The adventurers saw both mountains and desert, camped under the stars, and interacted with local Bedouin tribes of the areas.
As the official car of the Raid, the lead and tail vehicles were all Land Rover, as well as the food and water supply cars.
