Arab Camel Festival to kick off in Oman

The Arab thoroughbred Camel race festival will begin Sunday and continue for six days with a wide participation from the Omani Sultanate's various wilayats and GCC states. 

 

Mubarak bin A'mir al Habsi, Member of Majlis Al Shura and festival supervisor said the festival that includes 52 races will be held at the Al Fath camel race track under the auspices of Dr. Mubarak bin Saleh al Khodhouri, special advisor to Oman’s Sultan, according to ONA. 

 

As many as 1000 camels are scheduled to participate in the event.  

 

ONA reported that vehicles were allocated for the first winners alongside other valuable prizes. (Albawaba.com)
