The Arab Instrumentation and Automation Exhibition (AIA), held simultaneously with the Oil and Gas Show (OGS) 2006, will address the increasing application of automation and advanced technologies in energy sector businesses seeking to streamline and optimize extraction and logistic procedures. Organized by International Conferences and Exhibitions (IC&E), the latest edition of the leading instrumentation exhibition will be showcasing technology to monitor and manage pipelines, support security, remotely monitor and manage seamless custody transfers.
“A key challenge for the Oil and Gas industry is to meet regulatory compliance and ensure security of process while improving overall profitability. These demands have resulted in an increasing number of tailored plant and enterprise level automation solutions that we aim to showcase at this edition of the Arab Instrumentation and Automation Exhibition. AIA 2006 will address a diversity of business needs and seek to provide tailored automation solutions for businesses in the sector,” said Anselm Godinho, Managing Director of event organisers, International Conferences and Exhibitions.
Held for the second consecutive year, AIA will showcase state-of-the-art instrumentation, control and automation technologies related to the energy, engineering, construction, manufacturing and communications for industry buyers from the Middle East, the Mediterranean and the Indian subcontinent.
“AIA will address a wide spectrum of technological advancements and automation initiatives in a bid to help visitors explore different ways of managing documentation and monitoring, terminal automation, fuel dispensing systems and local control. Our broad range of technological exhibitors this year will see easy to use applications featuring open process for various sized controllers to increase efficiency and accuracy while decreasing operating costs,” Godinho added.
AIA will be held concurrently with OGS 2006, the Arab world’s premier event for petroleum industry professionals, investors, equipment and technology providers, from September 10 to 12 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre with the support of the UAE Ministry of Energy.
“More investment, advanced technology and new operating practices are required to develop unexplored resources available in remote and challenging locations and in unconventional oil deposits such as oil sands and oil shales, in a cost-effective and responsible manner. The oil and gas industry is also witnessing a renewed focus on enabling bump-less, fault-tolerant systems to ensure continuous uptime. As the region’s leading industry event, AIA will provide an effective business to business platform to address these issues,” explained Godinho.
OGS 2005 incorporating the AIA exhibition segment saw 300 exhibitors from 35 countries mounting a comprehensive presentation of technology, services and equipment for over 7,800 specialist visitors drawn from the exploration, extraction, processing, storage, transportation, automation, instrumentation and control segments of the oil and gas industry. Additionally, the show also welcomed automation, instrumentation and control professionals from the fields of manufacturing, construction, communications and the public sector services providers.
OGS (Arab Oil & Gas Show) is the largest and longest established event of its kind serving the lower Gulf. Now held annually, it enables local and international suppliers to stage a comprehensive display of the latest technology and services to over 5,000 specialist visitors involved with the exploration, extraction, processing, storage and transportation of oil and gas. Over 3,500 companies from more than 35 countries have participated in OGS since its launch in 1984. These include the biggest names in the industry worldwide as well as national pavilions from Germany, UK, Canada, China, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Ukraine.
