The Arab International Women’s Forum (AIWF) culminates its 2007 programme ‘Globalisation, Trade and Entrepreneurship’ in an outstanding two day conference at the Dubai International Financial Centre on 10 &11December at the invitation of the Governor DIFC, HE Dr Omar Bin Sulaiman.  

AIWF is extremely honoured to be holding this conference with the Patronage and support of Her Royal Highness Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein for this milestone event, the first for AIWF in Dubai. 

AIWF is very proud to announce that HE Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi. Minister of Planning, UAE and a founder board member of AIWF will make the Opening Keynote Address.

Entitled Powering the Future: Arab Business Women in a Modern Economy, this important event will provide a focal point for increased communication, networking and information exchange between the City of Dubai and the City of London with the broader Arab world and the international financial community.

The Chairman, Mrs Haifa Fahoum Al Kaylani declares that the AIWF aim is “to create an unrivalled forum for the development of multilateral corporate and public sector partnerships, with strong emphasis on the participation of global business, financial and governance organisations that strive to promote effective business relationships.”

Participating in this initiative are 225 delegates from 35 countries including 18 Arab countries, who are AIWF partners and members, and representatives from government, business, academic, professional and institutional arenas and include students from universities within the region. They come together to explore the financing of female entrepreneurship in the Arab world, best practices in corporate governance and the economic environment for the next generation of women entrepreneurs and the impact they might have on the future of their country’s economy.

The two day agenda includes very pertinent plenary sessions as well as a workshop, on the Value of Good Corporate Governance for Women’s Entrepreneurship in the MENA Region in collaboration with the Hawkamah Institute of Corporate Governance. It will also incorporate the launch in the Arab world of Domains of Influence: Arab Women Business Leaders in a New Economy, the first book of its kind that features 38 Arab women business leaders representing 20 countries.
