Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa has warned against political fraud in connection with any new Israeli-Palestinian "peace" deal, saying, "We will not be duped a second time."
"We warn against any political fraud by which the Arabs would be victims of a 'peace process' whose content and aims remain unknown," Moussa was quoted by AFP as saying at the opening of an Arab meeting aimed at supporting the Palestinians, and unifying their stance regarding the US-led war against Afghanistan.
"A peace process must have content and its aim must be the establishment of a Palestinian state," he said.
Ten Arab foreign ministers began talks in Damascus Sunday on how to help the Palestinians in the face of escalating Israeli attacks.
The ministers of Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the Palestinian Authority, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia and Yemen, who form an Arab League committee concerned with Palestinian matters, met with Moussa.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal was quoted by the agency as saying shortly after arriving in the Syrian capital Saturday that Israel's re-occupation of West Bank Palestinian towns last month demanded "Arab support for the Palestinians to help them stand up to this Israeli attack, and a solid Arab stance to prevent Israel occupying Palestinian territory."
