Foreign minsters from the Arab League are due to meet in Cairo next month to discuss Israel’s raid on the Al-Aqsa compound, a senior Palestinian official told AFP.
Nineteen mosque guards were injured on Sunday after Israeli troops allowed right-wing Jewish settlers into the Al-Asqa complex, while restricting entry for Palestinians.
Fifteen Arab nations will hold a meeting on August 5 to discuss “Israeli escalations at Al-Aqsa Mosque, continuing settlements, extra-judicial arrests and assassinations and forced displacements,” chief Palestinian official Saeb Erekat said during a press conference.
Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas strongly condemned the raid on one of Islam’s holiest sites, according to AFP.
