Arab League chief Amr Moussa is heading to Saudi Arabia on Friday as part of a broader regional tour to secure an active Arab role in Iraqi reconstruction and Arab-Israeli peacemaking in the aftermath of the war.

"Amr Moussa's meeting (in Saudi Arabia) is a continuation of ongoing consultations in relation to the situation in Iraq and the occupied (Palestinian) territories, as well as discussions related to...the role of the Arab League," Moussa's spokesman Hesham Youssef told Reuters on Thursday.

The trip to Saudi Arabia follows shuttles by the secretary general to Syria and Jordan to discuss issues including a diplomatic row between Damascus and Washington over an alleged chemical weapons program. (Albawaba.com)
