The Arabic version of the Microsoft Office XP will be launched in parallel with the international version on May 31, reported the Gulf News on Wednesday.

"Support for Arabic is vitally important to Microsoft. We have been working hard to bring our development of Arabic language versions of Microsoft's software in line with international versions and to reduce the delta between the release of international and Arabic products," said US-based Andy Abbar, group program manager.

Abbar, who heads Microsoft's complex scripts development team, is responsible for the Arabic software development program, said the paper. "Office XP extends computing beyond the desktop enabling knowledge workers to move away from disconnected applications, services and devices to create customized, personal computing experiences that redefine the relationship between people, software and the Internet."

The software features the SharePoint Team Services that allow teams within an organization manage and streamline their projects and activities through a shared environment on the Internet, said the paper – Albawaba.com
