Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat confirmed late Sunday he will take part in the international summit on the Middle East planned for Monday.
"We are going to Sharm el-Sheikh to achieve the calls of the Palestinian people," Arafat told a group of demonstrators who had come to express their support for him in front of the Palestinian authority headquarters in Gaza City.
"Not one of us will sell off a single grain of sand of Jerusalem," he added, referring to the eastern part of the holy city which the Palestinians want to make the capital of their future state.
His comments clear up any doubts over whether he would take part.
Earlier, Palestinian international cooperation minister Nabil Shaath suggested Arafat would not go to the summit without an agreed agenda.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa also confirmed Arafat would be going, although he admitted there was a problem with the agenda -- GAZA CITY (AFP)
