Palestinian President Yasser Arafat will travel to Egypt Wednesday for talks with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak as part of his tour of Arab nations, an Egyptian official said Tuesday.

Arafat, who visited Egypt last Wednesday on his way back from the failed Camp David peace summit with Israel in the United States, will brief Mubarak on the latest developments of negotiations, Egypt's MENA news agency reported.

He will also inform the Egyptian president of his recent visit to France where he met President Jacques Chirac and Prime Minister Lionel Jospin, whose country currently holds the rotating presidency of the European Union.

Arafat has already visited Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Morocco and Tunisia and is due to wind up his tour in Syria, where he will meet President Bashar Assad - CAIRO (AFP)
