Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat is due to travel to Amman later Friday from Moscow to meet Jordan's King Abdullah II, an Arafat aide told AFP in Gaza City in a telephone conversation from Russia.
Nabil Abu Rudeina said Arafat would meet King Abdullah early on Saturday to discuss the on-going violence in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and Israel.
Russian President Vladimir Putin extracted a pledge Friday from Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Arafat to try to end the Middle East violence as Russia sought to kick-start the peace process -- GAZA CITY (AFP)
