Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat is to travel to the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh on Monday to discuss the situation in the Palestinian territories with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, an official told AFP Sunday.
The meeting takes place a week after the Arab summit in Cairo and follows the collapse of a US-brokered truce declared during talks at Sharm el-Sheikh almost two weeks ago between Arafat and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak.
Arafat earlier Sunday declared that the uprising against Israel, in which almost 150 people have been killed and 4,000 injured since it began on September 28, will continue until the Palestinians can lay claim to Jerusalem as their capital.
