English clubs Arsenal and Manchester United are seeking to sign the soccer stars that shined in the Euro 2000.
Highbury boss Arsene Wenger has just completed the capture of Wiltord's France teammate Robert Pires and Brazilian midfielder Edu, but revealed at the time that he wanted one more signing before the start of the new season.
Wiltord, who scored France's injury-time equalizer against Italy on Sunday, looks to be his top target for a reported 15 million pounds ($22.7 million)
"The situation looks quite good at the moment," Wltord's representative, Giselaine Dugueteroux said.
"Silvain likes the UK, and he wants to play in the Champions League. Arsenal are a great club."
Pires has admitted that a move to Real Madrid would have been his first choice, but was convinced by Wenger to join the Gunners.
Meanwhile, Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson wants to sign Everton striker Nick Barmby while English Premiership side Arsenal are closing in on Bordeaux striker Sylvain Wiltord.
Everton boss Walter Smith revealed that Barmby, 26, has openly expressed his desire for a move to his boyhood idols Liverpool, but Smith insists that a fee must be agreed before a switch can take place.
Smith told the Daily Mail newspaper Wednesday: "There has not been any contact from Liverpool since last week, but Sir Alex Ferguson has called.
"He told me that he was interested in Nick Barmby and wanted to be kept informed.
"If he (Barmby) wants to leave he can. It's his decision" - (AFP)
