Art Fiesta begins in Mercato
Art Fiesta, a two-week art event organised in Mercato as part of DSS, was officially opened on Sunday, July 5, 2009, by Khulood Al Thani, Marketing Director of DSF Office. Hosting art exhibitions, workshops, and shows, the highlight of the event is an exhibition titled ‘Harmony’ featuring the works of Dubai-based Indian artist Rupali Rao. Art Fiesta will go on till July 18.
Rupali’s colourful paintings are magnificently presented around the fountain area in Mercato and the exhibition is free for all visitors to the mall.
Beside the art exhibits, Mercato also offers art workshops for children. Children can head to the food court to participate in the art activities such as clay modelling, group painting, pastel sketching, or simply painting to the beat of a lively music.
The Susan Walpole drawing and colouring competitions is also giving away dozens of surprises to children.
