This year’s celebrations for UAE National Day take on special meaning as the country also observes the Islamic holiday of Eid Al-Adha.   As the public gears up for huge public ceremonies and parades, UAE retails prepare for one of the largest weeks on the sales calendar.  This year, UAE-based retailer aswaaq has chosen to honour UAE National Day with a series of campaigns focused on charity and UAE heritage in addition to offering a number of promotional discounts.  Major activities will be held at aswaaq’s community centres in Umm Suqeim and Al Warqa’a all day on Wednesday, December 2nd—the annual date for UAE National Day.
“aswaaq itself is a direct result of the visionary leadership of the UAE, and we are proud to support a number of engaging community projects in honour of the 38th UAE National Day” says Mr. Abdul Baset Al Janahi, CEO of aswaaq.
Aswaaq will offer its customers the chance to enter a draw for valuable prizes when they purchase goods worth AED 200 and above. At aswaaq’s Umm Suqeim community centre,  a special Heritage Tent will be set up to host the day’s various activities.  A number of traditional UAE costumes including baby cots and old wedding accessories will be displayed throughout the day and visitors can get their pictures taken by on-site photographers.  For shoppers, the Areesh tent will be selling traditional UAE accessories (including car garments) and the Takatuf Centre & Arts Centre will offer national food dishes and Hina’a to visiting audiences in addition to distributing car posters with aswaaq’s logo and congrats to the UAE nationals for the Eid and National Day.
In coordination with French Bakery, aswaaq will host a three day cooking session for kids.  In addition to offering huge supermarket promotions on various items, new registrants of Wafa loyalty cards will receive extra points during this period, and employees will be on hand in support of aswaaq’s new customer Suggestion Program.
Similar activities will be held as aswaaq’s Al Warqa’a community centre, including an Areesh tent located beside Dakakeen, a Takatuf Centre & Arts Centre, and various vendors of UAE national garments.
Promotional discounts at aswaaq supermarkets will be as follows:
24th of Nov. - 15% discount on all fishery
25th of Nov. - 10% discount on all beef and lamb only
26th of Nov. - 15% discount on fruits and vegetables and 10% discount on cheese and olives
