A special NY Times supplement featured the American University of Beirut's Suliman S. Olayan School of Business, calling its academic programs as highly competitive, especially after receiving accreditation in 2009 from the AACSB, or the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International, which is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.

With its AACSB accreditation AUB joins the top five percent business schools in the world, the likes of Harvard University, Yale University, University of California at Berkeley, HEC School of Management in France and London Business School.
