Australian captain John Newcombe will have the luxury of choosing between Lleyton Hewitt, Mark Philippoussis and Pat Rafter for his two singles players for this month's Davis Cup tennis semifinals against Brazil in Brisbane.
Tennis Australia announced the team Tuesday for the July 14-16 tie on grass at Brisbane's ANZ Stadium, home of the Brisbane Broncos' rugby league team.
The team is Hewitt, Philippoussis, Rafter and Mark Woodforde.
It is the first time Australia's three best singles players have been included in the same Davis Cup team.
With Hewitt and Rafter having won grasscourt titles last month and Rafter and Philippoussis into the quarterfinals at Wimbledon, Newcombe said through a Tennis Australia release that the team had "outstanding form" on grass.
There was no room in the team for Woodforde's long time doubles partner Todd Woodbridge despite the fact the pair recently won the French Open doubles to complete a career grand slam and set a record for doubles titles.
Brazil will be led by world No.4 and French Open champion Gustavo Kuerten and the team also includes Fernando Meligeni, Jaime Oncins and Andre Sa.
