Australia's Olympic track and field athletes have joined their swimming colleagues in going for the fully-clothed look.

World record holder Ian Thorpe and the rest of the Olympic swim team have gone for a neck-to-ankle swimsuit. So the Australian athletes were quick to follow suit Tuesday when Nike gave them the option of a full-length lycra swift suit.

Long jumper Nicole Boegman modeled the bodysuit, complete with hood, which will be offered to all athletes.

"The designers have tried to cover every part of the body that's affected by wind drag," Boegman said.

"If it's going to make me run faster and get me that little bit further then I'll definitely wear it." Dual 400m world champion Cathy Freeman helped design the suit along with American sprint star Marion Jones.

"You feel like you're slicing through air," Freeman said – (AFP)
