Adobe Systems Incorporated, the leading global software and technology solutions provider, has launched into the Middle East, the award-winning Adobe Flex 2, a strong framework to rapidly develop applications for the majority of its user base at GITEX Dubai 2006.
Globally, more than 100,000 Web programmers have already begun downloading Flex 2, which includes dozens of out-of-the-box components for user interface, data and security, enabling applications to be built faster. The software was recently awarded the Editor’s Choice Award by Java Developers Journal.
“Flex 2 is a perfect example of how Adobe caters to the changing requirements of the development community and its clients,” said Adobe’s Regional Channel Manager, Jacob Alex. “With regional Web programmers increasingly becoming technology savvy and with a surge in client demands, Flex 2 provides the most advanced tools to meet market needs.”
Adobe is nearing the landmark figure of one million Flex developers who can create custom tools and post them on the Flex Component Exchange at http://www.adobe.com/exchange. Adobe is also working with leading commercial component developers to help further expand the Flex ecosystem.
Adobe now plans to extend its powerful toolset for designing and deploying a new class of rich Internet applications to the Apple Macintosh platform by unveiling Adobe® Flex™ Builder™ 2 and the Flash® Player 9 for Linux®, extending the reach of rich Flex applications to Linux desktops.
“By extending support to Mac and Linux platforms, Adobe is demonstrating its commitment to helping developers join the next wave of Web application development,” added Alex. “With Flex Builder for the Mac, developers are not only able to deploy applications across platforms, but also develop Flex applications with a modern integrated development environment (IDE) on their platform of choice.”
The Adobe® Flex™ Builder™ 2 will enable Macintosh platform developers to build next generation Web applications that combine the desktop software’s benefits with Web reach to create more engaging user experiences. The combination of the Flex 2 SDK and the Flash Player 9 for Linux comprises a fully supported, free rich Internet application development platform. This enables developers to create, debug and deploy Flex software-based applications entirely on Linux.
Flex Builder 2, a powerful Eclipse based IDE, includes a library of built-in controls and services for application development and UI design. Flex Data Services 2 empowers developers to create data-intensive applications that improve application performance, real time data synchronization and collaboration capabilities.
With free versions of the Flex 2 SDK and Flex Data Services 2 Express (a single-CPU production license that provides powerful message-based data management services), developers can build and deploy complete rich Internet applications with no software licensing costs.
