Tatawor, a not-for-profit organization aiming at developing local communities and reinforcing the youth, concluded its awareness lecture on Diabetes in collaboration with the PharmacyOne Training and Drug Information Center.

The lecture, which was held at the Jordanian Red Crescent’s Community Development Center located at Al Ashrafyah, is a part of the “A citizen in my city” project which is implemented by Tatawor and funded by the European Union under the supervision of Ministry of Political Development in Jordan.

The “A citizen in my city” project targets people in different areas in collaboration with different parties including Princess Basma Centre in Sahab, which is a part of the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development, the Red Crescent Training Center in Al Ashrafyeh, and Amman Municipality in Bayader Wadi Al Seer area, with the aim of developing democracy and human rights through social and political development, good corporate citizenship, social responsibility and democratic dialog.

Dr. Lara Abbasi, General Manager of PharmacyOne attended the lecture along with Dr. Dina Abu Laban, the Marketing Director at PharmacyOne. The lecture included a detailed explanation about Diabetes, its side effects and how to take the insulin injection, in addition to other subjects, delivered by Dr. Arwa Khatib from PharmacyOne Training and Drug Information Center.

Dr. Khatib also provided attendees with full information and a booklet about Diabetes.

Dr. Lara Abbasi said “It is a great pleasure to participate and contribute in spreading awareness about Diabetes. Giving people the chance to receive professional pharmaceutical advice with the assistance of specialists is one of our main and most essential goals at PharmacyOne Training and Drug Information Center, which is considered the first center of its kind in Jordan and the Middle East.”

This lecture comes in line with PharmacyOne Drug Information Center’s strategy aiming at spreading health awareness in the society, where Dr. Lara Abbasi emphasized on PharmacyOne’s commitment to continue providing the best pharmaceutical care services and advice in order to uplift and enhance awareness levels on various health issues.

It is worth mentioning that this lecture is the result of the first cooperation conducted between Tatawor and PharmacyOne in Jordan.
