AXA RANKS 15th IN THE FORTUNE 500 LIST

AXA makes it to the Fortune 500’s list again this year ranking in 15th place overall, and is third among financial services companies, ING (11th) and Citigroup (12th). In the Fortune’s Europe’s Top 50 AXA comes in at 5th place among European companies and in second place among French companies behind Total.

Every year, the US magazine Fortune ranks the top 500 global corporations in terms of revenue, earnings, assets, shareholders’ equity and total workforce. Fortune magazine compiles and publishes the list annually. All numbers are based on revenue figures for each company's previous fiscal year, which may end on different dates for each company.

Here is a list of Fortune 500’s top ten:
Exxon Mobil – Energy – The United States
Wal-Mart Stores – Mass retail – The United States
Royal Dutch Shell – Energy– The Netherlands
BP – Natural Gas and Oil – The United Kingdom
General Motors – Automobile – The United States
Chevron – Energy – The United States
Daimler Chrysler – Automobile – Germany
Toyota Motor – Automobile – Japan
Ford Motor – Automobile – The United States
Conocophillips – Energy – The United States

AXA should strengthen it’s position for next year with the recent acquisition of Credit Suisse’s Winterthur for 7.9 billion Euros further strengthening its main European business. The company also posted strong first half-year results with its net income up 20% to Euro 2.7 billion.
