Azerbaijan President Heidar Aliyev is scheduled to visit Iran on Saturday at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Khatami, according to Azerbaijan's Presidential Office on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, an Iranian diplomat positioned in Azerbaijan told the Islamic Republic News Agency that Iran is due to open a trade center in Baku in less than a month.
Aliyev's visit to the Islamic Republic has been repeatedly postponed for unclear reasons. But, political observers believe that the postponements were due to U.S. influences on that country's government. (Albawaba.com)
