Azeri cargo plane carrying nine passengers crashes in Helmand, Afghanistan

A cargo plane with nine crewmembers aboard has crashed in southern Afghanistan, an Azerbaijan Civil Aviation Authority official was quoted as saying.

Leased from the Azerbaijani Silk Way Company for cargo transportation within Afghanistan, the plane crashed in Helmand province on Wednesday.

RIA Novostireported the plane,conducting cargo missions in Afghanistan, had an international crew of three Ukrainian, five Azeri and one Uzbek nationals.
