At least five people were killed from a bomb that detonated in an outdoor market in Iraq's capital Baghdad, according to the Associated Press.
Police officials told AP that the blast happened Sunday morning in the predominantly Shi'ite Amil neighborhood located in the southwest of the capital.
At least twelve others were wounded according to the report.
Escalating sectarian tensions throughout the country have left at least 90 people dead in December alone according to AP figures, and at least 6, 200 have been killed in 2013.
