A working memorandum on development of the Bahrain-Qatar causeway was signed in Doha Monday, reported the Manama-based Gulf Daily News.
The memorandum was signed by Housing Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and Qatar's Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture Ali bin Mohammed Al Khatir, it said.
Sheikh Khalid said that “this meeting is a step forward towards an objective that both sides want to achieve in pursuit of the directives of the emirs of Qatar and Bahrain.”
It also aims at activating the joint supreme committee between the two countries under the chairmanship of their crown princes.
Head of the Qatari side described the signing as an historic event, which will have a great impact on the contemporary life and geography of the Gulf region – Albawaba.com
