Bahraini surgeons have removed a seven kilogram tumor from a female patient, reported the Gulf Daily News.

The team included the hospital's head, as well as obstetrics and gynecology department head and consultant gynecologist, Mooza Rashid.

The patient, who is in her 40s, complained of abdominal pain and swelling. When she was given ultrasound and CT scans, doctors found a large and unusual growth filling the abdomen, said the paper.

When surgeons operated they found that the tumor measured 25 by 30 centimeters and was attached to the uterus by a small stump.

This was surrounded by multiple cysts containing blood, mucoid material and fluid.

The patient recovered from the surgery and went home six days later – Albawaba.com
