Bank Sarasin-Alpen and Alpen Capital launch “Portraits of the Game II”.

Bank Sarasin-Alpen and Alpen Capital launched the book “Portraits of the Game II” by Shyam Bhatia at a private ceremony held for clients at the ICC World Twenty 20 England 2009 on 19 June, 2009. Present at the launch were cricketing legends  Sunil Gavaskar, Ian Chappell, Clive Lloyd and Farokh Engineer along with Rohit Walia, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of Bank Sarasin-Alpen & Alpen Capital and Shyam Bhatia. All proceeds towards the sponsorship of the book would go towards the organization- “Cricket for Care”- set up by Shyam Bhatia to support the game of cricket.

The book “Portraits of the Game II” is the second edition in the series compiled by Shyam Bhatia. The book is a collection of memorable experiences of renowned cricket players and is a sequel to Bhatia's "Portraits of the Game", which he launched in 2003 during the ICC World Cup Cricket in South Africa.

“We are happy to provide our support to Cricket for Care. It is indeed a great initiative to encourage the game of cricket and provide people in developing countries with the right tools and training to understand the game, says Rohit Walia, Executive Vice Chairman & CEO, Bank Sarasin-Alpen and Alpen Capital.

“Partnering with Bank Sarasin-Alpen and Alpen Capital has been a great experience and I am thankful to both the organizations for supporting the cause and hope they will continue the same in future, says Shyam Bhatia, Philanthropist and Publisher of the Book “Portraits of the Game II”

For Bank Sarasin-Alpen and Alpen Capital, this initiative counts as one of the many activities that are planned around supporting various charities. The organizations strongly believe in supporting causes that would impact future generations. Cricket for Care has been very active in promoting the game of cricket by providing cricket kits to the underprivileged youth in countries such as South Africa, India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Thailand.
