Producers of the up-and-coming Barbarella remake are attempting to distance themselves from Jane Fonda’s epic movie by insisting their film is based on the original books.
Drew Barrymore is to play the title role in the Warner Bros./ 20th Century Fox remake of the 1968 sci-fi classic,
Barbarella.
But producers Nancy Juvonen and Laura Zislin are saying that the movie is less of a remake of the Fonda hit and based solely on the series of comic books by Jean Claude Forest’s French epic book series.
The movie's producers insist the story for Barrymore's latest
flick is taken from Le Semble Lune and Le Miroir Au Templates, two of the last books in the Barbarella series – Wenn.
