Barney, the popular fun-loving purple dinosaur cartoon character, comes to Dubai for a debut show during the upcoming ‘Eid in Dubai’ 2009 – Eid Al Fitr with the Barney Let’s Imagine Show and Experience. The exclusive show will be staged for five days starting from the first day of Eid Al Fitr with two performances a day, at 4pm and 7pm.
To be held at the Airport Expo Dubai, the show will feature an exciting stage performance by Barney, BJ, Baby Bop, and Barney’s cousin Riff. The musical involves a stunning stage set-up and combines multimedia imagery, live actors and giant inflatable prop ups.
The Dubai Shopping Festival Office, organisers of ‘Eid in Dubai’, stated that the Barney show in the inaugural edition of ‘Eid in Dubai’ in 2008 was staged to sell out crowds and following that success, this year’s show was a new production that would make its Middle East debut in Dubai this Eid Al Fitr.
A dedicated area for Barney activities
While the show is undoubtedly set to attract thousands of Barney fans, a unique addition to this year’s show is an entire area at Airport Expo Dubai that is dedicated to Barney where children can find Barney merchandise, a colouring area, a Barney reading zone, a puzzle area, and also meet Barney and pose for photographs. The initiative is aimed at enhancing the experience Barney enthusiasts have during ‘Eid in Dubai’.
With a cast of twelve performers involving dance performances and songs, the show is extremely interactive and will appeal to children and parents alike. Tickets to the show are priced at AED 50, 100, and 150, and can be bought from Virgin MEGASTORE and at the venue.
