Brad Pitt has been offered the highly desirable role of Batman, reported Britain’s Sun tabloid and Entertainment Weekly.
According to EW, director of Pi and Requiem for a Dream, Darren Aronsofsky, has already met with Pitt in Los Angeles and is negotiating with Warner Bros. to possibly direct, the yet to be titled next installation for the capped crusader.
“I’d want to bring an independent, guerrilla flavor to Batman,” Aronofsky told EW, adding that he considers himself a long shot to land the gig, since X-Men’s Bryan Singer is reportedly also in the running.
As for Pitt, the Sun says the star, who was in London recently for the British premiere of Snatch’d, has declined to comment about his possible involvement in a Batman sequel-Albawaba.com.
